As the artists arrived at the Sacramento magic shop, a line had already formed and the interior of the store was becoming crowded – people from all walks of life were excited to meet the creative team behind the new graphic novel, Sinful. Not only were Funk and Houchin able to sign books and take photos with fans, but they also hosted a question and answer session with fans and an online forum with magicians all around the nation. “It was great to actually meet the people I worked so hard for,” said Funk , a founding member of the design firm Code Nine Design, in an interview after the event. “I feel like I got a great sense of who our target audience is and what they enjoyed most about the book.” Future collaboration between Code Nine Design and Houchin are already in the works – plans for DVD covers, promotional posters and more have all been discussed.
