We are a small group of professionals from Chico, California with backgrounds in graphic design, illustration, and the music industry. We have created identity systems, websites, print advertisements, packaging, collateral, illustration, apparel, and other marketing and creative solutions for companies such as Roland, Pork Pie Drums, DYO, Trucker, Lulus, Wayne Houchin, and Empire Coffee.
Josh Funk is a founding member of the Design Firm, Code Nine Design and specializes in Illustration. He most recently finished illustrating Sinful: A Graphic Novel for Magician / Illusionist Wayne Houchin. Josh is also a singer and songwriter and has released albums with numerous bands including Nerd Rockers Spencer & most notably Farewell Letter. His three solo albums include The Outlet Disadvantage [2000], A Jukebox Envy [2004], & The Face You Show Your Enemies [2007].
Ryan Sanders is a designer, musician, surfer, cook, and a founding member of Code Nine Design LLC from Chico, California. After two stints at California State University Chico for music production and graphic design, Josh and he started a little design group that has grown into a mature, full service design firm. In his free time between projects, he enjoys recording and releasing albums for local bands and baking the best damn pizzas you've ever had in your life. He even writes a pizza blog! He currently lives in Chico with his wife, Alicia.
Michelle is our newest addition at here and she has already worked on a few of our larger accounts. Before coming to Code Nine Design, Michelle interned at VideoEgg in San Francisco, California, created a promotional animated video for EA games Sims 2, created promo material for the Warner Brothers movie "Corpse Bride" and lots more! We'll make her write something about herself real soon - promise!
Joe is our videographer and motion graphics expert. He has directed award winning short films including Rauche Rd., and is currently working on a music video for Josh Funk's song "Breathe" incorporating CG with live action film, animation and miniature sets built by Code Nine Design.
